Salmon fishfingers are apparently 'pink in the middle'

Why am i always amazed when i see advertising mogules come up with yet another sexist way to sell a product by objectifying women's bodies? What a ridiculously tenuous link.

As if we women don't have enough to worry about and now we're being compared to fish-frickin-fingers and yes I am aware of all the extra puns that Nuts magazine could come up with but right now I am fuming and can't think how else to put it. Check this post again and I should hopefully thought of a better way to express my anger.

Don't watch it HERE

Anyone got any ideas on what we can do to compain?

Oh come on, Clare. If nothing else you have to admire the advertising industry's consistency. If in doubt, and you haven't got a clue how to flog salmon in batter as opposed to the more traditional small thin piece of cod in batter (and you must admit it is quite tricky...cos it even just sounds very wrong), then you are gonna have to use sex to sell it in some way.

But some tosspot on obscene amounts of wedge thinks he's been jolly clever, because not only has he done the obvious, he's made a number of different references (and taken it a bit further) also it looks like a parody of a parody - so it looks as if its being "ironic", the default defence of the latent sexist/racist, etc. As for dealing with them...there is only one way...

would it be better if two regular fish fingers were female too? ;P

For me- it pisses me off that I have to live in a society that constantly uses sex to to sell. And the worst part of this is that sex = female.
I suspect Ostrutka wasn't being serious but it's something we would not see....2 female fishfingers oggling a male salmon fishfinger with the relevant dirty word play.
When people say "sex sells" what they usually mean is naked women sell. Who are they selling to?? It aint me. And they will even stoop so low as to flog fishfingers with it. Jeee-Zus!

I have a secret to share with you...

...A lot of men fancy women. This is naturally more interesting than battered fish.

The only women who find this sort of thing offensive are either:

a)Ugly and/or bitter.
b)Lacking a sense of humour.
c)Have spent far too long at universilly learning big words such as 'objectification' and 'commodification' from their Marxist mentors (by whom they have been completely brainwashed) and need to get out a little more.

If I look at an attractive woman walking down the street and think 'Oh how I would love to...' etc, am I objectifying women? I suppose I am, but I don't think you'll change that. After all, it's how we all got here. Perhaps you should ban the human race?
