Shoe protestor faces prison

Muntadar Al-Zaidi has faced court in Iraq, his brother has confirmed. He has a broken arm, ribs and injured eye and leg.

He faced his hearing without independent representation, and has not been seen since his arrest, according to CBS. Muntadar could face up to 7 years in prison if he is found guilty. In fact, CBS report that he has 'disappeared' in the labyrinthine Iraqi justice system.

Our protest on Friday will have resonance across the world, but particularly the middle East. Please take a moment to forward the invite as widely as possible.

See below for full details.
